How much does it cost to rent a cottage in the Eastern Townships?

The Eastern Townships offer excellent value for money. Expect to pay between $200 and $700 per night depending on the property and the season. The median price is $350 per night, which is about 20% less than in the Laurentians for comparable quality. Fall weekends (harvest, fall colours) and ski season see the highest rates.

What is the difference between Estrie and the Eastern Townships?

Neither. These are two names for the same region. "Eastern Townships" is the historical name, inherited from the Loyalist colonial division. "Estrie" is the official administrative name adopted in 1981. Locally, both are used.

Are there any chalets near the vineyards?

Yes. The highest concentration of vineyards is located between Dunham, Stanbridge, and Frelighsburg, 15 to 30 minutes from Bromont and Sutton. Several of our cottages in this area are within walking distance of at least one winery. Filter by Eastern Townships in the catalogue.

Are Bromont and Sutton skiable on the same weekend?

Yes. The two resorts are 35 minutes apart. Many visitors stay in Bromont (more lively après-ski scene) and spend a day in Sutton (glaciers, more technical terrain). An Eastern Townships Ski Pass grants access to both.

Is the Eastern Townships good for couples?

This is probably our most popular region for couples: inns and restaurants, vineyards, spas, tranquil lakes. One- and two-bedroom cottages on the shores of Lake Brome or Lake Massawippi are especially sought after for romantic getaways.

The Eastern Townships, historically known as the Estrie, stretch the Appalachian Mountains along the Vermont border. This region is distinguished by its glacial lakes (Memphremagog, Brome, Massawippi), its vineyards (the Wine Route boasts 22 producers), and its upscale culinary scene.
