The P'tit Train du Nord
The P'tit Train du Nord is a 234-km cycling trail in the Laurentians, from Saint-Jérôme to Mont-Laurier, along the former railway line. The official map (PDF) is published by Tourisme Laurentides. Reserver.ca manages over 30 cottages within 5 km of the trail, primarily in Mont-Tremblant, Saint-Sauveur, and Lac-Supérieur.
The official map (PDF download)
The official map is updated each season by Tourisme Laurentides in partnership with the linear park. It shows the 234 km of trail, the 22 historic stations (including Saint-Jérôme, Sainte-Adèle, Val-David, Mont-Tremblant and Mont-Laurier), water points, emergency services and partner businesses.
For a typical cycling trip, the Saint-Sauveur → Mont-Tremblant section (approximately 65 km, moderate elevation gain) is the most popular and offers the best accommodation options. More athletic cyclists often prefer the Mont-Tremblant → Labelle → Mont-Laurier route (approximately 105 km, less busy, with forested landscapes).
Average distances and times (road cycling)
- Saint-Jérôme → Saint-Sauveur: 24 km, ≈ 1 hour 10 minutes
- Saint-Sauveur → Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts: 25 km, ≈ 1 h 15
- Sainte-Agathe → Mont-Tremblant: 23 km, ≈ 1 h 05
- Mont-Tremblant → Labelle: 21 km, ≈ 1 hour
- Labelle → Mont-Laurier: 84 km, ≈ 4 h 30 (over two days for most)

Five tips before departure
- Book early. Mid-June to mid-October is peak season; ski-in/ski-out chalets are often booked six to eight weeks in advance.
- Download the offline map. Cell coverage is limited between Labelle and Mont-Laurier.
- Stay hydrated. Free water fountains are available at the main stations, but are spaced 20 to 30 km apart on average.
- Keep to the right, overtake on the left. The path is shared with pedestrians and hikers; ring your bell when approaching.
- Check the weather forecast the day before — frequent summer thunderstorms in the Upper Laurentians in July-August.
